NEW INITIATIVES:

PITTARD, FENNER and GILBERT AWARDS: These awards are competitively awarded through an application process to celebrate the achievements of our members. Visit the website for more information.

NANCY MILLIS MENTORING PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS: The Nancy Millis mentoring program for student members was commenced to celebrate the contribution of Dr Nancy Millis to education in microbiology. Various social programs including breakfast and lunch activities are included in the program. Click here to view.

THREE MINUTE THESIS: As a part of the Perth ASM program, we are introducing a new category for the 3 minute thesis! This is an opportunity for poster presenters to give a three minute summary of their projects in a proffered paper session! Click here for more information.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING: The AGM is held every year to disseminate ideas about the direction of the Society and to hear ideas from the membership. The minutes of the last meeting are available here.

WORKSHOPS: Antimicrobials SIG, Culture Media SIG, Clinical Serology and Molecular SIG, CDS and Bioinformatics are holding workshops on the 3rd July will be held at the QEII Medical Center. For details on these workshops and how to get there, click here.

EXHIBITOR WORKSHOPS: We are excited to present workshops from Thermofisher and Illumina to be held during the conference on the 3rd July

PUBLIC LECTURE: We are proud to present a public lecture “Global Health alerts from the WHO and the traveller: What you need to know about Ebola, Zika, MERS and more” Speakers include Dr Paul Effler (Communicable Disease Control Directorate, WA Department of Health), Prof Tania Sorrell (Marie Bashir Institute & Westmead Millennium Institute) and Dr Chris Baggoley (Chief Medical Officer, Australia) This is FREE event for the public.
